Gilas Pilipinas Youth got their 1st win in the 2023 FIBA U16 Asian Championship as they beat Kazakhstan, 66-42 held in Doha, Qatar. Keifer Alas led Philippines with 18 points and with 10 rebounds, 2 assists and 3 steals.
Gilas Youth U16 held Kazakhstan to just 3 points in the 3rd quarter as they outscored their opponent by 19 points and held on to their lead in the final quarter to get their 1st win.
Joaquin Ludovice contributed 11 points and 3 steals for Philippines while Bonn Daja with 10 points, 8 rebounds, 1 assist, 1 steal and 1 block.
