Gilas Pilipinas will not play in the 2020 FIBA Olympic Qualifiers
Gilas Pilipinas will not play in the 2020 FIBA Olympic Qualifying Tournaments as Asia will be represented by China, Korea and New Zealand.
8 teams already qualified for the 2020 Tokyo Olympics after the 2019 FIBA World Cup which includes Argentina, Australia, Spain, France, Iran, Nigeria, USA and host Japan.
24 Teams were confirmed to play in the FIBA Olympic Qualifying Tournaments:
Africa: Angola, Senegal, Tunisia
Asia: China, Korea and New Zealand
Americas: Brazil, Canada, Dominican Republic, Mexico, Puerto Rico, Uruguay, Venezuela
Europe: Croatia, Czech Republic, Germany, Greece, Italy, Lithuania, Poland, Russia, Slovenia, Serbia, Turkey
The remaining 4 slots for the 2020 Tokyo Olympics will be from the winners of the 4 FIBA Olympic Qualifying Tournaments to be held from June 23-28, 2020.
