Gilas Pilipinas Youth vs South Korea in KO game in FIBA U16 Asia
Gilas Pilipinas Youth will face South Korea in the knockout qualification to quarterfinals phase of the 2023 FIBA U16 Asian Championship on September 22, 2023, 12:30am (PH Time) in Doha, Qatar.
Gilas Pilipinas Youth U16 (former Batang Gilas) finished with a 2-1 record in the Group Phase as they beat Kazakhstan and Malaysia but lost to China.
South Korea U16 meanwhile finished with a 1-2 record in their Group as they lost to New Zealand and Jordan and won against Bahrain. The match will be a knockout match with the winner going to the quarterfinals and the loser will drop to the classification phase.

Currently leading the Philippine team in scoring and rebounding is Kevin Alas with an average of 17.7 points per game and 10.3 rebounds per game. Next in scoring is Kurt Velasquez with an average of 10.3 points per game.
For South Korea, leading the team in scoring is Daniel Edi with an average of 13.7 points per game and Jihoon Yoon with 13.3 points per game.
